Old-school craft, built for right now.
Salt & Steel started with a simple frustration — good barbering and good styling had somehow become two different worlds. We built one shop that does both.
How it started
Marcus Deleon spent twelve years behind a chair learning the trade the long way — straight razors, scissor-over-comb, the kind of fade that doesn't have a line in it. Nadia Okonkwo-Reyes came up on the styling side — color, texture, the cuts a traditional barbershop would send away.
They kept sending each other clients. In 2018 they stopped doing that and opened Salt & Steel instead — one room where a skin fade and a grey blend happen at chairs next to each other, and nobody feels like they walked into the wrong place.
The space
It's an old print shop on Logan Boulevard. We kept the brick, the big windows, and the original signage, and added six chairs in reclaimed oak and brass. It smells like bay rum and hot towels and it's the kind of place you don't mind waiting in.
What we stand on
Craft over shortcuts. Everyone welcome in the chair. Honest prices told to you before the cut, not after. And a shop that's actually findable when you need one — which is the whole reason this page exists instead of just another Instagram post.
